Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Does Percocet Cause Heart Palpitations, Itching And Involuntary Tongue Movement?
I ve been taking two Percocet every four hours for the past two days now after getting my tonsils and adenoids removed and I ve experienced mild to medium itching, at times to the point I couldn t sleep, and now it feels like my heart is racing and palpitating and I cannot breathe normally. I feel like I need to let my breath out and push for longer to get it all out before I can take another breath and my tongue has randomly been gliding against the roof of my mouth when I m half asleep then stops. Is it safe to continue taking this medication or should I call my doctor?
Percocet may can cause respiratory depression and breathing difficulty in few patients. It may also cause palpitations and allergy in few patients. Yes you may call or consult your doctor he may write and give alternate medicine for your problem.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
