Hi I was seen in the er Thursday night for abdominal pain I have ovarian cyst and the sent me home with Percocet , I have never had it before. I took 1 dose Friday night and Saturday early afternoon my checks started to develop a small rash I put a little lotion on it to help. Everything was fine then by 6 my tounge was swelling, face on fire and still rash and almost strawberry red. I took Benadryl my tounge went down and I seemed to be ok. Went to bed everything was fine. I woke up rash still there face still feels like its on fire and itches. Tounge is normal, am I allergic to Percocet, if so how long will the skin reaction last???
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum. It appears that you are highly allergic to the percocet, and hence had the allergic reaction. I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms, levocitrizine, daily for 7 days, and if necessary may require steroids and antibiotics. And i also advise you to avoid the percocet, for ever, and if at all you use it you will get more allergy than this. Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
