Does Perinorm Tablet Increase Breast Milk Production?
I have a 12 day old baby and not much luck with breastfeeding. I've been prescribed Perinorm tablet for 7 days by the padeatrician to increase breastmilk. Do you think it is safe for me and the baby? Does Perinorm tablet increase breastmilk production?
Some pediatricians may prescribe Domperidone or Metoclopramide to increase breast milk production but there is no official dosage known and stoppage of the same may cause abrupt milk production. Medicine may not be safe for the baby. Instead of taking medicines you are recommended to try natural methods to increase breast milk production.
Take barley or oats in milk. Sago (sabudana) in milk is very effective, you can take it 3-4 times a day. Sago is a lactogenic food. It increases milk production. You can consume sabudana as khichdi or kheer during breastfeeding. Barley malt, papaya, fennel and fenugreek seeds are equally good. Eat a balanced diet, drink fruit juice and milk. Take adequate rest and sleep well. Stay well hydrated.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
