Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have lupus and I ve been prescribed plaquenil and am also taking losartan and doxosasin . Lately I ve been experiencing low blood sugar and it seems to be getting worse, I ve told my family practitioner about this and he suspects it s stemming from the plaquenil and we cannot convince my rhumatologist that it may be the culprit.
Hello, I had gone through your query and understand your concern.
Plaquenil is known to cause low blood sugar level in some patients. Drinking water with glucose will help to rise the level of sugar in blood. Explain your concern with your doctor. Ask for different medication.
I hope this helps. If you have any other queries, feel free to ask.
Regards, Dr.Prathap Kumar
