Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been on Eliquis for afib. Recently I had the procedure to repair a hole in my heart. The doctor also prescribed Plavix to keep the platelets from sticking together on the device. I noticed my urine being very dark as blood was passing. I contacted me Cardiologist and he said stop taking the plavix because my blood was getting to thin. Your thoughts?
Right, this is most likely due to Plavix. So you should stop taking it. because eliquis is also having much more like same property it prevents thrombus formation due to atrial fibrillation .it's indirectly pretty much like a blood thinner.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Bhadresh Lakhani
