Good morning Doc. I made out few days after my period not sure of the exact date now and then my partner touched my private part with the same hand he used in touching his penis to mke himself cum. I was scared I could get pregnant even if I really did not feel his cum inside me I wasn t sure so to take precaution I took postinor 2. My next period is due today. I want to know is it possible that am pregnant or can my period be delayed as a result of the pills?? If so how many days delay. My last period was 3rd of September. Thank you
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. Postinor 2 is an emergency contraceptive pill. It contains Levonorgestrel and belongs to progestogen-only contraceptives. Once you have taken this pill, it will prevent pregnancy by causing breakthrough bleeding. Bleeding will be similar to your periods and should happen within 3 weeks from the day of intake of the pill. Most often, it would happen within a time of a week to ten days. Hence, you may get your periods little early or late depending on the time of intake of pill. In case your bleeding doesn't occur within this time, you need to seek medical attention immediately. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
