Does Postinor 2 Cause Delayed Periods?

Age 26, height 5 4, weight 53kg, no related medical history, Started periods 9 Oct 17, engaged in unprotected sex 12th Oct while i was still menstruating and I took the two P2 at once...Engaged in the second unprotected sex on 4th Nov but this time used withdrawal method because I knew I was in safe days... I was expecting my periods on 5th or 6th Nov because my cycle has always been regular i.e 27-28 days.... My periods are now 8 days late and I have taken home preg test and it s negative.... Is there a probability that I am expectant? If not, is P2 responsible for the delay?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi & Welcome.
Positnor-2 can cause delayed periods.

Following the use of emergency contraceptives like Positnor-2 most women will have a normal period at the expected time, but some may have their period later or earlier than normal.

Since your period is more than 8 days late you should consult a gynecologist to rule out pregnancy and may be to induce bleeding.

Hope this will help.
