Does Postinor Intake During Pregnancy Cause Any Side Effects?
HHello, i had intercourse on my ovulation day (20th march)and I took prostinor 2 in the evening of 22nd and 26th March. My urine pregnancy test came out positive when I did it on the day I was meant to see my next period(4th of April). Does prostinor have an effect on the pregnancy . Do u think fertilization took place before taking the medication. Am yet to do a pelvic ultrasound and am worried about the effect of the drug on my baby or my likelihood of having an ectopic pregnancy.Kindly advice , Thank you.
It is likely that ovulation had taken place before you took Postinor. Get examined by a gynecologist. You will need to get few required blood and imaging tests done to detect ectopic pregnancy, fetal gestational age and wellbeing of the developing fetus. There is no evidence that emergency contraceptive pills have teratogenic effects on the developing fetus. However, your treating gynecologist will keep track and do tests to see the growth of your baby. You can keep the pregnancy if the development of your baby is normal.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
