i AM A 66 YR OLD FEMALE ACTIVE AND IN GOOD HEALTH. I DO TAKE PROVASTATIN FOR ABOUT 5 YRS, A SIDE EFFECT IS MEMORY PROBLEMS. LATELY I NOTICE MY MEMORY IS GETTING WORSE AND I MISPLACE THINGS. NOTHING SERIOUS BUT I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS STATIN MAY BE CONTRIBUTING. SHOULD I DISCONTINUE IT.

I really appreciate your concern, it may not be the medicine that causes the memory problem but it could be geriatric condition or some time may be some dementia and it need to be clinically confirm better to see the neurologist, hope this information helps.
