Does Predisone Cause Pain And Tingling Sensation In The Arms And Fingers?

I am just getting over bronchitis and was on a second round of Predisone and antibiotic. My arm and hand started to ache and my fingers started to tingle. They told me to discontinue the second round of Predisone because they thought is might be causing it. I went to my GP and was told he wasn t sure what it was and to continue with heat and or ice. I am going out of town on the 23rd and I don t want to take this problem with me.

Hi and welcome to HCM!

Thanks for your question.

Pain and tingling sensations indicate nerve compression or neuropathy, secondary to many conditions such as diabetes, alcohol, drugs etc. Prednisolone is used to treat neuritis or nerve compression, so it is least likely to cause this problem. I would suugest to take Tab Neurokind LC once in a day, daily. If symptoms persists more than a week with any weakness in hand then meet an orthopaedic surgeon or a neurologist to get tested.

Hope this helps.

Take care
