Does Prednisolone Cause Shortness Of Breath, Chest Pain, Blurred Vision And Dizziness?

I have shortness of breath , chest pain towards left side , it feels like a band around my chest , heart burn , blurred vision , pain in my upper back and dizziness Though these sound like a heart atack , my question is I have just come off a cource of prenisalone maybe a bit fast , could this be a side affect of that ? I am a 52 year old female , not over weight with normal blood pressure and no heart problems

Hello,

Prednisone should be tapered slowly. Heartburn, sweating dizziness are a few of the side effects.

If it is because of the tapering off prednisone, the symptoms should go away in a couple of days. However, you are suggested to get examined by a GP. You may need medical support for the discomforts.

Your symptoms are suggestive of GERD that is triggering Angina(Chest tightness). Take antacids & PPI's. If your symptoms continue, get a thorough cardiac check up done to rule out any developing CAD.

In the meantime, stay away from oily food, trans oil, red meat & high protein diet. Switch to a healthy lifestyle & diet. Avoid addictions if any. Take adequate sleep.
