Does Prednisone Cause Fluctuating Body Temperature And Palpitations?

I am an RCA and have an 87 year old female client who recently got a prescription for prednisone-5mg.
She has always struggled with cold but now her temp fluctuates SO much. Today she is so hot that she has been uncovered all day and she's finding the inner heat unbearable. I'm wondering if this could be related to the prednisone?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The fluctuating body temperature and palpitations are side effects of Prednisolone. I recommend to stop further doses of Prednisolone, drink plenty of liquids and consult your family doctor for the replacement of the molecule.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
