Can primolut n stops period that has already stared while taking the medicine once a day...my period is delayed this time...the due date was 4 th August, but as it was delayed i started taking medicine from 7 th once per day...still the period has started from yesterday means 12 th August
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Primolut N does not stop the period once it has been started.
Your period is delayed due to taking of Promolut N only as you started from the 7th August.(it contain progesterone and it prolongs the second phase of cycle.)
After stopping the pill, period will come in the next 3 to 4 days. It is prescribed drug and should be taken under the advice of a gynecologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Dholariya Sagar Jayantilal
