Hi & Welcome.
Primolut-N is unlikely to be the cause of high prolactin levels.
Primolut-N (Norethisterone) is commonly prescribed to postpone the periods and other conditions.
Its common side effects include: headache (including
migraine headache),
swollen or sore breasts, decreased sex drive, fatigue,
breakthrough bleeding, ovarian cysts, pre-menstrual (pre-period) symptoms, feeling sick or being sick, stomach ache, acne, allergic skin rashes, itching, discoloration of the skin, and weight gain due to fluid retention.
It is not known to cause
increased prolactin level.
High levels of prolactin (
hyperprolactinemia) are normal during pregnancy and after childbirth during nursing.
However, hyperprolactinemia can also be caused by
anorexia nervosa, liver disease, kidney disease, hypothyroidism and pituitary tumors.
Drugs such as Risperidone, Haloperidol and Metoclopramide can increase prolactin levels.
Some common stressors can also raise prolactin levels. These stressors include low blood sugar, strenuous exercise activities, and even mild forms of discomfort.
Red clover, fenugreek, or fennel can raise your prolactin levels.
In view of the above I advice you to consult your doctor for proper clinical evaluation and certain lab tests to find out the actual cause of elevated prolactin levels.
Hope this will help.
Best regards.
