Does Provera Prevent From Having Normal Menstruation Cycle?
Hi my dr prescribed provera for me so I can have a uterine septum resection. My breasts are tender but I haven t started my period. Negative pregnancy test. If I take the provera and am close to starting my period in the next couple days will it prevent me from having a period until I finish day ten of my provera.
According to my knowledge Provera will prevents patients from having periods and it is given to stop the menstrual bleeding so hopefully it will prevent you from having your period until you are on it (there are still chances of mild vaginal spotting though but it is normal and of no worry) and even a few days after it, as it effects are long lasting.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Hiba Tehrim, General & Family Physician
