I am 32 year old lady and i have a baby boy of two and half year old I got my last period on 17 jan but i take regestrone 3 tab daily for 5 days from 14 feb but i don t know that time that i am pregnant but on 23 feb i personally checked with prega news and the report is positive. Someone told me that this medicine should effect on your fetus to Now i am confused that does regestrone effect on my fetus (baby). Please suggest should i go with this pregnancy or abort it ....
Regestrone is used to treat menstrual disorders and abnormal vaginal bleeding in women caused due to hormonal imbalances. It is also used for birth control to prevent unwanted pregnancies.
This medicine is not recommended for use if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy in near future.
So if you have tested positive for pregnancy and if you want to continue with it you should stop taking Regestrone at the earliest.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Prabhash Verma, General & Family Physician
