Does Ritalin Overdose Cause Severe Headaches?

My 10 yr old daughter accidentally took two doses of ritalin. She normally has 15mg short acting twice a day but she took 30mg. She appears to be ok however she is experiencing a migraine this afternoon would that be related? (She has had migraines before)

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello there I have read through your question and understand your concern. Ritalin does cause side-effects on overdosage like nervousness, agitation, irritability. But 30 mg of Ritalin won't cause any side effects . So according to me the headache she is experiencing is because of migraine. Since she has had previous episodes of migraine it is the most likely explanation. I hope that answers your question. If you have any further questions please feel free to write. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic.
