Does Simvastatin Cause Hair Loss?

I have been taking Simvastatin for the past year and have noticed that my hair is getting thinner and my nails have lots of ridges and peel in layers and seem brittle. Is this caused by the Simvastatin? I am 70 years old, 5 ft tall and weigh 113 lbs. I take Metoprolo and Losarten for high blood pressure. Three years ago I was diagnosed with Pernicious Anemia and do have some tingling in my feet and hands. Can the Simvastatin aggravate the PA? I work out with weights, do stretching exercises and have always been very active. Should I continue with the Simvastatin and if so, what can I do about my hair and nails?
