hi
you need to relax
tuberculosis is treatable disease now
it does not usually cause shortening of lifespan
the medications are quite effective
i am however not clear about a few aspects
he has tb of what part?
how was it confirmed?
did he take the medications regularly, without a break?
what kind of organisms grew in his tb culture, if done?
did his
liver function test remain normal during treatment?
did he have dose modification?
i need answers to all that before i can answer you more completely.
treatment is longer if he has extrapulmonary tb.
and of course
there is a possibility of mdr/xdr tuberculosis
where the current medications are ineffective and a higher
version of medicines has to be used
your treating dr can probably tell you more about that
i am sorry for giving you a limited answer
but i need more details to answer more completely
best of luck
