Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, My mother was taking eltroxin 100mg for thyroid and had angina problem, hence the doctor has reduced the dosage to 50 mg but has changed the medication to Thyronorm 50 mg, she took it only today morning and has severe headache and nausea, is it becoz of the change in medicine ?
Headache and nausea may not occur with the reduction in Thyronorm dose. Other cause such as abnormal blood pressure or blood sugar should be ruled out. Headache can also occur due to migraine, stress or eye disorders like refractive errors. In case symptoms persist,Ct or MRI brain may be essential.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
