Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have experienced strange behavior while on Trazodone for sleep I have been on it for years. In the past two weeks, I have been getting really mad at my husband and yelling at him about things I am not even mad about. I do not remember it during or after I am doing it. I say mean things to him. I started a new bottle of Trazodone recently. What is happening to me ? Could it be related to the medication?
Trazodone is an antidepressant drug. One of the major side-effects of Trazodone is agitation. So, the symptoms you are describing may be due to the drug.
But since you have been using Trazodone since long it is advisable that you consult your psychiatrist regarding substituting it with a different drug. Sudden stopping of the Medicine may lead to relapse.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Nazma Amman
