Does Trinicalm Plus & Risdone Cause Side Effects?
My mother has been taking Trinicalm Plus 1-1-0, Risdone Forte 0-0-1, Donep 5mg 1-0-0, Valium 0-0-2 (5mg) for the past 6months continuously. She was admitted in a mental health care hospital for over a month and is taking medicines on her own, But she has put on weight and is unable to move. Her body has become stiff. Please advice if to continue with the medicines or change prescription.

Trinicalm and Risdone are medicines which are used for psychosis or schizophrenia.These are needed in needed to make the people with these problems better. Stiffness of the body, weight gain and abnormal movements (dyskinesia) are side effects which may occur with these medicines. Discontinuing these medicines can make her sick from her mental illness.
It would be better if you discuss these problems with the treating doctor and if there is a need to change the medicines or add other medicines to counter act these side effects he/she would do so. If you are not satisfied, you may also take a second opinion from another psychiatrist. Please do not discontinue psychiatric medications abruptly.
