Hi and welcome to HCM
I'm Dr. Taimur and I will be addressing your health concerns.
I have read your question and understand your concern.
Tepride is a gastric pro kinetic, and is usually given in functional
dyspepsia. The decrease in digestion does not seems to be related to Tepride as it does not have any such side effect profile.
As you are diabetic for a lot couple of years so it seems like your having Diabetic
Gastroparesis, in which the long standing hyperglycaemia slowly and gradually affects the autonomic nervous supply of stomach resulting in disturbed motility of stomach, treatment of which is again Tepride.
Decreased digestion in spite of Tepride may be due to other Gastro intestinal diseases, that should be investigated.
In my patients I ask about
1. any
diarrhoea associated with the problem?
2. is there diarrhoea alternating with constipation?
3. is there any abdominal pain?
4. do you have hot brashes, or regurgitation of gastric contents especially at night?
So in the view of above history questions and then relevant examination plus investigations we can composite a diagnosis.
My recommendation to you is to get an appointment with a GP and get yourself properly examined and investigated.
I hope this might be of some help, if you have any query feel free to ask me any time.
Thanks.
Dr. Taimur
