Does UTI During Pregnancy Affect The Baby?

Hello Doc, this is teddy from the Philippines. my wife is now on her trimester and having a urinary tract infection. her pus cells counts is high as 40 - 56.. i was wondering because during her first urinalysis the count of her pus cells is only 15-20.. just worried it might affect the baby.

Hi,welcome to healthcare magic forum.Yeah,UTI may affect your baby,it can cause preterm labor also.IN my opinion you should consult your doctor soon as she has the problem since before.Better try to get the treatment as soon as possible so that it could be cured before the delivery.no need to worry much.be in regular contact with your doctor..take care.
