Does Vagisil Cream Help Treat Yeast Infection?

I had signs of yeast infection a couple day ago I ll say the first of June it s now the 4. I used Monistat because everyone said it would help but first i just used Vagisil cream but that was the day before I used the Monistat. Hours after using no Monistat I felt leaking and I thought ok maybe it s just suppose to work like this then I felt itching really bad. I had to leave work to come home and figure out what the problem is. I m now sitting here crying my eyes out because this is bothering me really bad.

Hello,

You should take care of your hygiene. Stop using public washrooms / toilets. Take regular baths and wear soft cotton clothes. Do not douche or use chemical cosmetics. If sexually active, avoid sex for a couple of days. After bath, you can apply ointment hydrocortisone to get of itchiness. You can apply Metronidazole vaginal tablets at bed time in the vagina for 3 to 5 days. Take home made balanced food rich in calcium & protein. Reduce weight if obese. Orally you can take a course of Fluconazole to get rid of yeast infection.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
