Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my doctor prescribed me victoza in order to lose weight because of insulin resistance. Since starting the victoza my hair is falling out in clumps. My doctor said that the victoza could not be the cause because the medication doesnt work like that. I take a multivitamin and supplements to make sure i get the nutrients i need in addition to my diet. Although the doctor says it isnt related i believe it is. Is that true?
it is oral hypoglycemic medicine. though given ijectibly it is not insulin. it act on pancreas to stimulate producing more insulin. it is not related to-fall of hair. it is only indicated to treat type 2 diabetes report of hair fall and victoza or loss of weight is not reported control of weight and exercise help in treating type two diabetes. if one is insulin resistant then oral hypoglycemic agent are only alternative.take second opinion.
