Does Vistaril Cause Hair Loss?
I recently (about 11 days) started taking Vistaril for anxiety and itching. I have noticed some improvement in the itching, but not too much as far as the anxiety. Should I allow more time before I expect better results. Also my hairdresser said that my hair is shedding somewhat. Is this a side effect of the medication? Should I be worried about loosing my hair? Is this something that could stop in a short period of time? The dosage that I take is 25mg, 3 times a day. Thanks for any help you can give me. I have tried so many medications without good results.

25 mg thrice daily is the dose effective for itching relief. However, in order to attain anxiety relief the dose of Vistaril need to be increased to 50 mg 4 times daily. So please follow up with your treating physician to adjust the dose of Vistaril.
