Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can a deficiency of vitamin D be related to increased blood pressure levels. I am 69 years old 6 2 , 183lbs. And walk 18 holes of golf 6 days a week. What should my blood pressure levels be? Heart rate? At rest. Can I take one 5ml dose of liquid vitamin D3 ( 180 drops @1000iu per drop ) in lieu of the 1000iu daily pill form and take it once every 3 months.
Certain studies suggest that Vitamin D deficiency can cause Hypertension in patients and vitamin D supplementation can reduce blood pressure. In normal Vitamin D levels, this effect is usually not seen.
You can take Vitamin D supplements in the form of drops, capsules or powder.Consuming along with milk is highly beneficial.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
