Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can Vyvanse cause bruises on a child s legs? My 8yr old daughter keeps getting bruises on her legs and I don t know why. She has been taking Vyvanse for about 2 months now. These are not hives but black and purple bruises. I am just very concerned for her.
Increased bruising can be concerning. Vyvanse would not cause increased bruising. There is a chance that by taking it, her behavior has changed so that she is getting more bruising (playing more and running around more). The medication itself would not cause bleeding issues. If you are concerned, you could get some simple blood tests done. Seeing her pediatrician or family doctor would be the first step.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Timothy Wong, General & Family Physician
