lm sick of people saying xolair does not make you put on weight l have been on it for 5 months and have put on 12 kilos its done wonders for my asthma but its does make you put on weight l am also getting dry skin on my face dead aches and tiredness, joint pain
Yes, it can cause weight gain as its one of the side effects. Prescribed in the treatment of severe asthma, chronic urticaria and angioedema, Xolair's common side effects include joint pain, skin rash, itching and weight gain. Weight gain can be prevented by eating a healthy balanced diet, avoid fast food and junk foods; regular exercise, adequate oral fluids intake, or possibility of switching to an alternate effective but a safer medicine for your asthma.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
