Does Zantac Cause A False Positive Drug Test Result For Methamphetamine?

Can taking Zantac cause a possible positive result when given a drug test? The specific drug was meth-amphetimine. Note: my son is not and has never been a drug user. He is in state prison on a non-drug related charge. The prison medical division prescribed him the Zantac and also gave him the drug test which showed positive. He has been in prison for 10 years and has NEVER tested positive for any drugs. This is a dire situation that could cause many problems in the prison system. I am terrified of the repercussions this may cause. Please help!!!

Since the early nineties there have been different studies and relating articles that document and confirm the interaction of ranitidine in urine drug tests. Ranitidine (zantac) is known as causing false positive results for amphetamine in urine tests. Metamphetamine, also. I hope that these facts and documentations are known from the persons who interpret the tests.
