Does Zonisamide Affect The Kidneys?

My doctor prescribed Zonisamide for my legs. I already take Mirapex 10 mg for restless leg syndrome. My concern is that I have liver disease, and now this new script is a worry for that reason. Also, a concern is that this drug us a sulfa drug...how will this effect my kidneys?

Zonisamide is a Sulfonamide medication used to treat the symptoms of epilepsy and Parkinson's disease. Very common incidence of adverse effects with its use include: Anorexia, Somnolence, Dizziness, Agitation, Irritability, Confusional State, Depression, Diplopia, Memory impairment and Decreased Bicarbonate. It is not known to affect other organs like liver or kidney to such an extent so as to cause their damage.
