Does A BP Reading Of 150/102 Need Medical Attention?
hi my question is I went to my pain specialist today and when they checked my blood pressure it was 150/118 with a pulse of 98...based on the chart below that shows I should of seeked immediate medical help..however my nurse told me it was high and to try to relax when I got home to hopefully help lower it..that was 9hrs ago. now it is showing 150/102 with pulse 80...I do have high bp and take lisinpril for it..do I need to be concerned that it is staying at those levels
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Blood pressure of 150/102 mmHg definitely needs treatment with medications as it is higher than normal. With such readings in place, it is doubtful that relaxation techniques alone could help in bringing down blood pressure to normal and keeping it under control. Along with medications, relaxation techniques like meditation, physical exercise and diet low in salt and & fats could help additionally in bringing down blood pressure to normal and keeping it under control more effectively.
