Hello Dr I m concerned about my older sister who is 67 and haven t had A colostomy in over ten years she said the Doctors said she didn t need it they gave her the stole test and said everything looked fine, I told her colon cancer was in our family, she has been having small pain in the left side of stomach and lost weight down to 114 pg at 5ft 8 she went to The Dr they gave her a CT scan and said everything looked fine, but he did tell her he wanted to schedule a colostomy. I m just concerned maybe she didn t want to share with me but can a CT scan pick up a mass or polyps.y
hi... yes..CT SCAN will detect mass or polyp.. but there are many types of polyp.. they are differentiated only by histopathologival examination and cytogenetic studies.. after this reports you can go for surgery or medicine therapy depending on type of polyp.. thank you

hi... yes..CT SCAN will detect mass or polyp.. but there are many types of polyp.. they are differentiated only by histopathologival examination and cytogenetic studies.. after this reports you can go for surgery or medicine therapy depending on type of polyp.. thank you
