Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Dr I am not proper English speaker I will try to explain my question . I had bladder infection 3 weeks ago now my period is delays 7 days But before I got bladder infection I had intercourse when my last period ends Do you think the infection is delay my period?
First of all many reasons for delayed periods like pregnancy, PCOD, Stress, thyroid dysfunction and maybe because of some birth control drug`s side effects and might be some chronic diseases that lead to stress the body.
Urinary tract infection (UTI) can be due to restricted water intake, wiping your private parts from front to back will prevent the spread of infection from anal area to urethra, sustained use of napkins for long period is also a reason. So the chances of delayed periods due to UTI is very low.
My suggestion is you can take a urine pregnancy test and consult an obstetrician or gynecologist for further steps.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Indhu Priyadharshini
