Does A WBC Count Of 12.4 And Elevated Lymph Nodes Affect Purpura?

I ve been having blood spots , not like bruises, but the technical term is purpura, that appear on my arm if I get scratched, or accidently hit my arm on something. This has been going on for 6 months- 1year, appr. Ive been under a lot of stress, and have been very tired, not sleeping well, just dragging myself around...etc..... I went to the dr yesterday, and they did a CBC & COMP, and my WBC was 12.4, and my lymph nodes were elevated, when in April, they were low.... The dr suggests I see a hematologist... What do you think it might be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

High level of WBC and the presence of lymph nodes is usually related to an infection. I agree with your doctor for a consultation with a hematologist for a physical examination and further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
