Does A Cat Scratch Cause Red Rashes On The Hands And Feet?
Is there knowledge that Cat s Claw can cause red blotches on feet and hands, which only improves after stopping it. I was taking 1 ml/day of the Nature s Answer product, a third of what the bottle recommendation is. Then I doubled the dose to 2 ml/day and shortly after the redness started. It took me 2 months to be suspicious of Cat s Claw.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Yes, cat scratch disease (CSD) is a syndrome that begins usually with red, tender papules or pustules at a site where a pet cat (usually a kitten) has scratched, licked, or superficially bitten a person that later progresses to painful regional lymph nodes (which may be felt as small bumps under the skin) over one to three weeks. Also check for drug allergy or urticaria which may present symptoms like this. If you're having fever, lymphadenopathy, and body pains means you have to start antibiotics. You may use Azithromycin, Rifampicin and Trimethoprim and Sulfamethoxazole is also effective. Please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
