Does A Chronic Sunburn Require Medical Attention?

Just wondering when you have to get medical attention for a sunburn. Ive been on new medication for a week that says to avoid prolonged sun exposure. I am fair skin and I thought I was being careful but I was out in the sun for 5-6hrs on the beach and the top of my feet are partialy brunt and almost my whole right leg on my other she only burnt in different parts but the skin is tight and it feel like in get pricked when I move, it hurts sometimes. Part of my stomach is red and I cant tell how bad my back. There is also a lot of heat coming from me. I ve never had a sun burn that hurts this much, will it jusy go away like a typical sunburn

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You should stay home and avoid exposure to the sun until the end of therapy. To relieve pain you can use paracetamol or ibuprofen and apply aloe vera gel in your skin. Drink lot of water, avoid alcohol because it cause dehydration.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
