Does A Hysterectomy Lead To Cognitive Decline In Women?
I am a 65 year old woman who had a hysterectomy with removal of ovaries 22 years ago. Initially, I did not want to go on HRT but had profound signs and symptoms of estrogen deficiency . The worst one was insomnia. I have been on enjuvia (0.45) for many years. No history of breast cancer in the family. My gynecologist has retired and enjuvia is discontinued. I am thinking about no longer doing HRT but I have seen articles identifying cognitive decline related to women such as myself who do not have ovaries. What to do?

Hi, I think you should not discontinue enjuvia. I don't think if you are able to tolerate the HRT, there is any need hormonal stop it. Also, you are not at risk of breast cancer. Get yourself evaluated by a gynecologist just for a proper checkup.
