Does A Lump At The Site Of Injury Need Medical Attention?
So I was at work when I was leaning against a shelf. Under that shelf was a rug. The rug ended up moving and I slipping and smacked the middle of the top left side on a shelf and it left like a knot. Depending which way I move it hurts. And sometimes hurts without any movement. Not sure of I should go to the hospital or not.
I have read your question closely, I understand your concern and will be helping you with your health related problem. It is normal to get a swelling or a lump at the site of impact after you get hit on head, usually it is due to edema or local blood collection but it usually subsides with time and patient gets better in 4 to 5 days. If there was no vomiting, loss of consciousness or fits, then usually there is no worry, and you are expected to stay fine.
I hope this answered your question, If you have more queries I am happy to answer you.
Regards, Dr. Muhammad Ahmad
