Does A Non-progressive Pulmonary Nodule Pose A Health Risk?
my husband is a diabetic. he was diagnosed with a small pulmonary nodule at the 6th rib right lobe. x ray and two ct scans were done and the nodule did not progress. at this time he is experiencing leg and buttocks pain and chest pains. if the nodule does not progress will this post a risk on his health?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Pulmonary nodules are harmless and non cancerous. In most cases no treatment is required and only close follow up is recommended. If there is no increase in size no intervention is required. Do a HRCT every year to assess the progress.
Thanks.
