Does A Right-sided Pain In The Neck Need A Visit To The ER?

wondering if I should go to emergency or wait to see reg doc....swelling, pain to touch gland on right side of neck. (Taking levothyroxin for 10+ years) No problem speaking. Little pain when swollowing. Pain starting to radiate to jaw and ear, woke me up. 52 year old female.

Hi..Can understand your concern.As per your query.about swelling and pain in right side of neck looks like lymphnode swelling.There is usually regional lymph node swelling when there is any infection in the surrounding area .It may be any tooth infection or tonsillitis.You need not to worry much..Do hot saline gargles many times and need to take antibiotic like azithromycin.. .If no relief and symptoms persist you need to consult a physician.I hope the information helps you.Take care.
