Does Abdominal Hysterectomy Have Any Complications On Future Sexual Life?
I have a fibroid the size of two babies head so I am getting abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral salpinectomy I know it was stated they they will remove my uterus but I don't recall my cervix I need to ask Monday I have to have a blood transfusion I am very low on blood. I have been in complete stress about this surgery .I want to know why some men states it don't feel the same when having sex with women that has had this procedure.especially if they not touching the vagina
It is understandable to be concerned about any surgical procedure but this surgery is widely done and not normally associated with complications.
Your surgeon can clarify if the procedure would involve removal of the cervix (total hysterectomy) or if the cervix will remain (subtotal hysterectomy).
In terms of intimacy, it should not be affected because ,as you mentioned, the vaginal area is not altered. In most cases , it is only the perception of change.
I hope this helps
