In case you have an increase in abdominal size it is not due to pregnancy but may be related to some other medical condition. A pelvic scan is done if you have some symptoms & to detect thickened endometrium, fibroid, polyp, etc. It can detect the blood fluid in the monthly flow depending on the type of ultrasound done.
