Does Alcohol Consumption Affect The Effectiveness Of Metronidazole?
I was prescribed cephlexin and metronidazole and i took three shots of vodka two days after i was prescribed the medication is this going to effect anything and if so what do i need to do? I didnt realize i wasnt supposed to drink alcohol and i immediately stopped consuming the vodka as soon i was told.
The most worst reaction of this combination is nauseating feeling all the time along with vomiting and headache.
So better you should avoid alcohol if you using such combination. Now you wait for 24-48 hrs after vodka and then start the medication again without any discontinuity.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
