Does Alcohol Inhibit The Immune System Of A Person?

greetings, i have had a flu/cold that i caught in Puerto Rico and seems to not be improving though I ve had it over a week. I know there are not cures and i have been avoiding my religious runs for 7 days now but when i have a little more energy would it hurt me to run? Also is it actually bad to have any alcohol with the flu so long as i am at home and not out in a crowd or does it actually lower my immune system/ prevent healing somehow

HI.

I understand how important your runs must be to you, as they are to me. But it would be best in your state to avoid them until you feel better as they can result in more harm than benefit at this juncture.

As for the alcohol, it does inhibit your immunity and so it is best to avoid it, although some believe whiskey can help, but it is not a tried and tested approach. Initiate a vitamin C supplement to be used on a daily basis, along with multivitamin supplements for better immunity.

Best wishes.
