Does Alcoholism Affect The Life Expectancy Of A Throat Cancer Patient?
I have had chemo and radiation for stage 4 throat(back of tongue) and lymph node cancer which has been clear for about a year after the treatments. I sometimes smoke pot and drink too much. What does possible effect do these activities have on my life expectancy. I m 70 and have minimal health issues other then the one explained above.
Yes, smoking and using alcohol would have a very likely negative effect on your throat cancer. They are direct possible causes of these cancer changes and can therefore cause a recurrence and then affect your life expectancy.
It would be best to avoid use of at least the alcohol.
I hope this helps
