Does An Early Period Affect The Reliability Of Birth Control?

Hi, I am currently taking oral contraceptives and my period started about 14 days early. I had horrible cramps and felt ill for about 4 days. I don't think I could be pregnant because I was just married and only sexually active for about 2 days before the bleeding and cramps started. Will the early period affect the reliability of my birth control?
