Does An Eye Condition Cause Poor Judgement Of Distance While Driving?

I seem unable to judge distance accurately especially when driving. I just hit the side of the garage for the second time in a month. I also had a near miss accident, it seems I was not aware of a car. could it be vision or something else. who do I see to have this evaluated.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Well it sees to me you need a total check up that means first total blood analyses and the you should consult: ophthalmologist to see if you have a vision problem and needs glasses. Then I suggest to see a neurologist and an otorhinolaryngology doctor to see any other problem like: middle ear infection or other neurologic problem. During this time I will suggest to avoid driving because it may be dangerous.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
