Hi,
Syphilis is a bacterial infection causes by Treponema pallidum.
Serology or VDRL test usually becomes positive after 7-10 of appearance of syphilitic lesion (chancre) in the genital area.
If serology is non-reactive, it means there is no syphilitic infection.
Normally it takes around 9-12 months to become serologically negative even after treatment. Only reducing titre can confirm curing of syphilis.
If the lesion is still present, then smear can be taken from it and dark field microscopy can be done.
So, your penicillin has not affected the syphilis test and you are negative for syphilis infection.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
